Year 3/4 Futsal Tournament

On Wednesday, 8 of Oak Class travelled to the Sir John Colfox School to take part in the Futsal Tournament Y3/4. They all played amazingly together as a team, considering they had never played together before. They were all supportive and encouraged each other. With two wins and two losses, the team finished in third place, a fantastic result.

Some games were easier than others, but they worked hard and, more importantly, as a team. I was very proud of all of you, particularly how well you conducted yourselves, represented the school, and just got stuck in!! Well done; you are all sporting stars!

Fabulous Football at the Kenway Cup

What absolute superstars our Sycamore footballers were this week. They showed amazing skills on the pitch, played 6 brilliant games and scored some super goals. But the thing that shone most of all was the children's resilience and team spirit. They showed great sportsmanship and kindness to each other and all the other schools! We were very proud. Thank you to Lee for all your help coaching and inspiring them.

Tag Rugby Tournament – Bridport Rugby Club – Saturday 19th October

So Super proud of our tag rugby crew today who played incredibly. First match won 5:1 drew second 3:3 and lost the last 6:4 - knocked out by just one point coming third in our group. You were all amazing! Thank you to all the children and parents for your support! See you next year!

Colmers Run 2024

On Saturday, October 5th, we held the Colmers Hill Run. After last year's event was cancelled three times due to rain and flooding, this year's conditions were perfect. Seven schools from across the Bridport Cluster competed. It was a fantastic morning.  And we could not be prouder of this team.  They ran their hearts out.  With this talent, things are looking positive for running competitions for Symondabury.

In the girl’s event:  Rosa 6th, Mollie 7th, Annie 15th, Erin 17th, Leila 21st & Esme 26th

The girl's team came 3rd overall.

The boy’s event: Henry 6th, Louis 18th, Miles 22nd, Caspar 24th, Flynn 27th.  The boy's team came 5th.

A massive thank you to Shaun Dixon, our running coach extraordinaire, who came down to be the fly runner for the event and supported our team.

Thank you to Richard, Kay & Megan Tuck for continuing to support this event.  They no longer have children at Symondsbury, as Megan is now in her thirties, with her own children, but every year they still come and help run this event.

Thank you to the friends for the amazing refreshments.  We all needed a bacon roll after that.

We look forward to 2025!
