Reading is magic!
This week we have been listening to and being inspired by a range of authors taking part in the 'Reading is Magic' festival. We have written a letter to the Earth and are planning our own stories. Thursday will see us writing lively and funny songs about books before trekking off to the wild woods in our best festival gear in search of inspiration and magic!

The fun so far!
This week we had great fun exploring the woods. We thought about how nature has had a chance to recover and renew during lock down, looking for clues for lots of different animals. We learnt the story of the Green Man myth and created our own Green man images.
Maths
In maths we are starting to think about place value up to 1000 in Y3 and up to 10,000 in Y4. This will include rounding. We have started the year with a little investigation into Roman Numerals.
English
We have been studying the book 'Here We Are' by Oliver Jeffers in English. We heard the poem 'A Love Letter to the Stars' by Ruth Awolola and have been writing our own narrative or list poems.
Spanish
The children have started to learn basic Spanish which they are all really enjoying.
