About the School
Welcome to Symondsbury Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School
Symondsbury School is a small village school for 103 primary-age pupils. It is located in a traditional rural setting close to the world famous Jurassic Coast of West Dorset. Dramatic cliffs and beaches are within a mile or two, with the school located just west of the lively market town of Bridport. We are part of the Bridport Cluster of Small Schools as well as the larger Bridport Pyramid of schools.
Our children are all encouraged to be strong members of the vibrant, local community, the school attracting children from a wide surrounding area as well as from the parish. The children get to know each other well and as they grow they are gradually encouraged to take on responsibility for each other and for the school.
This caring ethos is part of our commitment to traditional Christian values and discipline preserved and developed in partnership with the church at parish and diocesan level. We are also fortunate in the strong support we receive from parents and the wider community, this enabling us to provide an exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular opportunities.
